Interior Design LEAD

The role of the Design Lead position is to execute multiple projects with design acumen whilst executing management skills & proficiency. This person will work directly with the Principal Designer & Project Managers; they will be involved in decision-making and client interface. We are seeking a senior or lead designer with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience and a very strong knowledge of the industry. Our firm is rapidly growing, and we are looking for a self-starter who is highly creative, impeccably organized, and can oversee projects from start to finish. 

This is a robust role that requires a variety of responsibilities. The design lead manages 5+ projects with excellent execution. This person will understand the complexities of design and be able to execute on a high and proficient level while leading a team of junior staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop initial design concepts and final design presentations for review with the Principal Designer 

  • Ability to communicate design intent through drafting in Photoshop, Indesign, Sketchup, and Autocad

  • Exceptional Client Service Skills

  • Oversee all functional requirements of a project from initial meeting through construction & installation.

  • Maintain and organize project digital files, images, photos, and project samples.

  • responsible financial management

  • Accurate specifying and limiting mistakes in plans & products. 

  • Collaborate with and delegate to junior design staff specific to each project.

  • Exceptional and proactive Project management. Serving as the main point of contact for clients, external project partners, and internal team. 

  • Develop awareness of scope, budgets, schedules, and project timelines with the help of the Lead Project Manager.

  • Work with Project Managers to oversee accurate and complete proposals and specifications. Review and approve orders.

  • Lead the design process with oversight, collaborating with the Principal Designer and team. See concepts through to completion in all design phases.  

  • Accurate & timely completion of budgets and design deliverables

  • Identify and respond to client and external project partner needs. 

  • Design & Drafting, including space planning, furniture plans, RCPs, interior elevations, electrical, millwork, plumbing, hardware, section drawings, construction plans, demo plans, and all details to bring a project to life.

  • Must be able to build a furniture piece in 3D

  • Act as liaison between the design firm, vendors, and subcontractors, including visits to project sites and vendor workrooms to oversee the status & progress of fabrication and construction.

  • Preparation & upkeep of furniture plans & finish schedules.

  • Preparation of proposals and invoices to be sent to the Principal for review. 

  • Manage shipping & receipt of all purchased items from the time of sourcing through to final installation, with special attention to all deadlines and details. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience at an architecture or interior design firm

  • Must have excellent Communication skills

  • Must be very detail-oriented and highly organized with very good follow-through skills and strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Understanding of custom furniture design and window treatments

  • Possess an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while exhibiting initiative in the management of all intra-office priorities

  • Proficient in Auto Cad, Sketchup, In Design, and Photoshop

  • Existing vendor relationships and knowledge of a range of sources

  • Reliable Car & willing to travel.

  • Self Motivated & Adaptable

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

  • Must live in RI, CT, MA and willing to travel often to the office in Warren RI or/Fall River MA area.

  • This is an in-office position with scheduled Work from Home days per week.

- A possible relocation bonus may be considered for the right candidate for those willing to relocate to Rhode Island.

Interior architectural Draftsman

Moore House Design’s Studio is looking to add a skilled, detail-driven interior architectural drafter to our team. The drafter will work on creating drawings, CDs, and models to deliver to our senior design team. This is a hybrid position and some in-office work will be required as well as remote. This can be commissioned as Full-time employment or on a Per-Project basis. The role of the Design Lead position is to execute multiple projects with design acumen whilst executing management skills & proficiency. This person will work directly with the Principal Designer & Project Designers; and must have a minimum of 3+ years experience within an interior design, construction or architectural firm. Our firm is rapidly growing, and we are looking for a self-starter who is highly creative, impeccably organized, and can oversee projects from start to finish.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop 2D drawings through Autocad and occasional 3D models through sketchup

  • Ability to communicate design intent through drafting

  • Specialty driven in historic millwork and trim profiles

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at a time. 

  • Efficiency to complete projects by deadline and manage time effectively

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy across all projects 

  • Ability to research and creatively communicate new types of applications to all functional requirements of a project 

  • Maintain and organize project digital files, images, photos consistently within teams process 

  • Collaborate with designers and Principal to effectively communicate the project plans to vendors and construction teams. 

  • Accurately execute with limiting mistakes of design teams specifications. 

  • Well coordinated plan sets  that document consistent information from page to page and from plan to specification. 

  • Receive redlines from Designers and effectively communicate limitations and changes. 

  • Work with Project Managers during build to oversee and adjustments needed to execute plans.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant work experience at an architecture or interior design firm

  • EXPERT in AutoCad & Sketchup & Photoshop

  • Must have excellent Communication skills

  • Must be very detail-oriented and highly organized with very good follow-through skills and strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Understanding of custom furniture design a plus

  • Possess an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while exhibiting initiative in the management of all intra-office priorities

Lead Project Manager

Moore House Design is Hiring! We are currently seeking a Lead Project Manager with a minimum of 3 years experience to join our robust team. Please find all details on our Lead Project Manager position below. This is a Full-Time in-person position.

This person will work directly with the Principal Designer & Project Designers. They will be involved in all the aspects of making a project come to life! We are a team that comes first and foremost. We are looking for an experienced individual who loves to work and is excited to grow with us here at Moore House Design. We’re all about creating authentic spaces for our clients. In addition to our interior design services, we collect a curation of antiques/vintage finds and design custom items for our clients and our soon-to-be e-commerce site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Preparation of proposals and purchase orders using software
- Create and monitor project budgets
- Create and monitor project schedules and sourcing information
- Source and suggest furniture, fabric, etc. for Designer approval
- Place, process and manage all vendor orders through completion
- Procure estimates from trades and vendors
- Coordinate deliveries to project sites and warehouse storage facilities
- Create client presentations and digital design boards in Canva or InDesign
- Schedule and attend  all client meetings, including project site visits and design meetings
- Produce paint, lighting, hardware, plumbing and tile schedules for architects
- Review and redline all shop drawings to ensure design intent
- Create installation timelines; organize and oversee installations
- Represent firm at meetings with architects, contractors and vendors
- Manage issues with contractors, vendors and clients. Identify and document problems and troubleshoot solutions
- Compile weekly status reports and be prepared to discuss the status of all orders on all projects at bi-weekly staff meetings
- keep track of inventory within the inventory system
- Facilitate custom production needs
- Understanding of plans and construction drawings with ability to keep site documentation updated

REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum of 3 years project management work experience at a construction, architecture or  interior design firm
- MUST have excellent Communication skills
- Must be very detail-oriented and extremely organized with very good follow-through skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of custom furniture design and window treatments is a plus
-Possess an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while exhibiting initiative in management of all intra-office priorities
- Proficient in Excel & Goggle Drive
- Must have some knowledge of SketchUp or willingness to learn.
- Existing vendor relationships and knowledge of a range of sources is a plus
- Reliable Car & willing to travel.
- Self Motivated & Adaptable
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Must live in RI, CT, MA and willing to travel often to the office in Warren RI or/Fall River MA area.
